Development of N-Tiered Client/Server system in Visual Basic 5.0, SQL Server, MTS, IIS and
NT 4.0. Lead the Client/Server Testing using automated tools, SQA Suite,
RequisitePro and Visual Test. Designed system with Rational Rose, ERWIN and Other
Object and Data Modeling Tools. Directed several development cycle for a major Web and
database projects including design, documentation, implementation, testing, and production
release. Worked with developers to provide a stable development environment through
version control, staged production, and dedicated development environments. Managed the
upsizing of an existing Access database to SQL Server including optimizing and
implementing stored procedures to provide data encapsulation. Designed and implemented
a Client/Server and Mainframe connectivity projects. Integrated
dedicated Internet connection into the internal network through a firewall and caching Web
proxy server. Fully planned and documented disaster recovery procedures for all mission
critical servers. Planned implementation and maintenance for company-wide support of
group-ware applications including Microsoft Outlook, Team Manager, and Exchange Server to
streamline the business process. Fully documented and implemented disaster recovery
procedures for all internal servers to minimize down time.
Worked in a team to design, develop and maintain corporate Intranet for
an initial potential audience of 8,000+ employees. Responsible for the ActiveX, HTML
and IIS as well as the management of dedicated NT 4.0 servers. Provided dynamic content by
integrating PPG's Intranet with SQL Server databases and Access databases using IDC and
ASP scripting as well as custom Visual Basic CGI applications.
